Draw Blood! 01:35
As my hands ease their way Across the sloping hills of your hips You pull me close and your teeth sink down Into the flesh of my lower lip Holy water, alcohol, and love Pierce the skin, draw blood! Lay your weight where my ley lines meet Where they intersect and ignite And I will share my truest name Without deceit, without a fight Holy water, alcohol, and love Pierce the skin, draw blood! Yeah!

Annihilation 02:44
There is no question that I am in love with you Silk ropes and silver all tight on my wrists Bitter botanical alcohol stinging The sickly sweet music that pours from my lips And I Don’t want to be whole anymore A cry Loud enough that you cannot ignore Break me down into component parts Make use of my useless heart All that is good must be annihilated No new life can grow where the soil is choking I burn down the gold aspen grove of my ribcage And dance in the ashes all dying and hoping And rise on some new day all lovely and leaning Against all the wreckage, the bombed out apartments With kudzu and chamomile flowers covering the world And I, I don’t Want to be whole anymore A cry loud enough That you cannot ignore Break me down into component parts Make use of my useless heart

Basking wild in the morning glories growing up the trellis on the west wall weeping at the sight of bluebells creeping ever further from the forest outside your unkempt lawn You are hoping for wind and raining whether or not you Finish your earl grey tea dark Vanilla smelling Heather and the dogwood tree bark Peeling in the light of the dawn I am breathing the pollen covered bumblebees sneezing sunlight Seconds after coming outside into the springtime Stretching my arms and legs a yawning portal welcoming a band a-stage And they play on and on and on And on And on I ask you If you love me You smile Mischievously You say I’ll know If I wake up and you’re gone
4.
Sing to me songs of disaster Your lips all the shapes of the moon I lay flower petals on your eyelids Your face like a peony in June And there In the space Between our languages New ones form And there In the shelter Of your arms I am warm Rot with me here in the mountains I don’t need to be anyone But if you were a seed in my soil I’d lift up your leaves to the sun And there In the space Between our smiles I can see forever You can swallow All I am I only need water
5.
[wild animal ramblings] So your house burned down While you were on vacation There’s not much that you can do when The insurance man asks for information You can sit there and cry You can lay flat on the ground When the cops arrive And tell you not to skip town They’ve gotta do some checking They’ve gotta check some things out And your relatives from New Hampshire They drop by They ask you how you’re doing And you say you’re doing fine You’re alright, you’re okay Your lungs are filled with carbon And your house has burned away But you’ve got ashes aplenty You can grow your home anew Seed packets from a catalogue Sea water flowing out of you

When I was 16 years of age I stole the brand new razor blade And peeled off all my boyish skin And slipped into that dress When came a sound like crashing steps My puckered mouth made useless Beaten down with callused hands Oh jesus what a mess There’s a young girl staring back at me Behind the bloodied nose She thinks she’s got it figured out She’s finally cracked the code But there’s no cryptic cipher There is only the absurd And she thinks she knows the language But she only knows the words When I was 19 years of age I threw out all my razor blades A grew my beard as long and thin And wiry as it would go My skin fit like a wetsuit tight And not uncomfortable despite The nagging feeling that I might Be more suited for the shallows There’s a young man staring back at me Behind the crooked smile He doesn’t know what’s coming And he won’t, not for a while But there’s no cryptic cipher There is only the absurd And he thinks he knows the language But he only knows the words When I was only twenty three I turned into a willow tree And weeping by the river’s path I learned to grow again My hair is to my shoulders And I’m only getting older But I love myself enough to know The saints are marching in There’s someone staring back at me Who’s learning how to pray They don’t believe in God but they Don’t know another way But there’s no cryptic cipher There is only the absurd They are learning the language They are learning the words

Take what sordid secrets you can find beneath my flesh I don’t think I want them anymore When the smell of jasmine flows in past the threshold of my home I expect to see you standing in the door There’s a painting of a jackalope that’s bleeding from its brain And it smells like Texas sweet crude oil And the seven colored sword that cuts the clouds into the rain Collapses deep into the red clay soil When the house on Dennis Street burns down When I close my eyes I’m witnessing dark visions of the end Bloated bodies burden branches on a dying olive tree So I stuff my shirt with toilet paper scrawlings of the portents And I hope somebody can forgive me When the house on Dennis Street burns down Change my name Burn off all my hair Smear myself with peach pulp Who’s really going to care If the house on Dennis Street burns down

about

All hail the magnetic hiss, ye relentless wind!

Seven songs, seven lies, seven prophecies, seven prayers for the end times, for rot, for hunger, for regrowth, for the indifferent power of nature. Nothing stays the same: this is music for the inevitable transformations of you and I, and of the world. For better, for worse, we are thrust towards an unfathomable future. I hope we are beautiful when we get there. I hope. I hope. I hope.

For best effect, listen on car speakers in the desolate places.
